Athletes of the Week

The Dana College Sports Information Office and Viking Leadership Council are proud to announce Ryan "Bulla" Tuzon as the athlete of the week. 

Tuzon (JR, Maui, Hawaii) -- Wrestling

Ryan "Bulla" Tuzon went 5-0 on the week for the #4 rated Dana College wrestling program. Tuzon defeated Joe Keleher 9-5 on Thursday to help Dana defeated #11 Morningside College 22-21 in a dual. 

Tuzon won the 165 pound weight class at the Simpson Invite going 4-0.  All four of his wins were my major decision or technical fall.  He upset second seed Blake Peterson of Truman State by technical fall in 2:04.  In the finals, Tuzon upset top seeded Mitch Norton of Upper Iowa University 19-9.  Bulla was also name the tournaments Most Outstanding Wrestler.To nominate an athlete of the week please contact Nate Thies or the Dana College Sports Information department.  Athlete of the Week will be announced every Monday afternoon.  We will also be taking nominations for a monthly Dana College Champion of Character.
