Manz Leads Vikings at Dana Open
Dana College hosted over 125 of the top wrestlers in the Midwest on Saturday afternoon.
Wrestling Dual Cancelled
The dual between Montana State Northern and Dana College for this evening is canceled. The Montana State-Northern team was in an accident and were not able to complete the trip to Blair. This meet will not be rescheduled. Dana College still be hosting the Dana Open on Saturday and encourage all of you to come.
Wrestlers Travel to Simpson Invite
The Dana College wrestling team travelled to Indianola, Iowa on Saturday to take part in the Simpson Invitational. The Vikings brought home two eighth place finishes.
Dana Wrestlers Climb in National Standings
The second regular season NAIA Wrestling Coaches’ Top 20 Poll was announced last week. Lindenwood (Mo.) holds the top spot this week for the second week in a row. Dana College has moved up a spot to third place in the national poll.
Wrestling Splits Home Duals
Blair, Nebraska ~The Dana College wrestling team split a pair of home duals Thursday evening. Dana hosted Morningside College and Augustana College in a triangular dual. In the evenings opening match the Vikings defeated the Mustangs 23-15. Morningside then lost to Augustana 28-15. In the night cap, Augie defeated Dana 34-6.
Vikings Wrestle at Kaufman-Brand Tournament
The Dana College wrestling team competed in the Kaufman-Brand Open at the University of Nebraska-Omaha on Saturday. The Kaufman-Brand is one of the nations largest single day wrestling tournaments. The tournament is divided into the amateur and elite divisions.
Wrestling Team Going Strong
The Dana College wrestling team opened up their dual season with a 25-18 win over NCAA Division III power Buena Vista University.
Vikings Pin Beavers
The Dana College wrestling team scored its first dual win of the year on Wednesday night. The Vikings defeated Buena Vista University 25-18 in Storm Lake, Iowa.
Peiffer, Okano Lead Vikings
The Dana College wrestling team braved the snowy roads and took a group of wrestlers to the Dakota Wesleyan Open in Mitchell, South Dakota. Mark Peiffer (JR, Pine Hill, New Jersey) brought home the lone title for the Vikings.
SDSU Open
The Dana College wrestling team took a small contingent to the Warren Williamson/Daktronics Open in Brookings, South Dakota. The Vikings had wrestlers compete against nationally rated junior college, NCAA Division I, and NCAA Division II wrestlers.
NIACC Open
The Dana College wrestling team opened their season at the Kaye Young Open hosted by Northen Iowa Area Community College in Mason City, Iowa.
Vikings Announce Wrestling Recruits
Dana College wrestling coach Beau Vest has announced the names of nine additions that will join the Vikings next season. The class is highlighted by six former high school state qualifiers and four local recruits.
