Megan Lazoritz
Having harpist Megan Lazoritz join the Dana College Concert Band
meant a lot of adjustment for everyone. Conductor William Hall set
out to find band selections with harp parts. (He's now compiled one
of the most complete lists in the world.) And Megan had to learn
to play a few more percussion pieces.
But Megan wouldn't have it any other way.
"I've made a lot of friends in Band," she said. "I
think I made the right decision here with everything I want to do
with my life."
Megan came to Dana from the Millard school district in Omaha. She
looked at a lot of schools with orchestras, but decided Dana's environment
was the right choice for her.
"I liked Dana because it is a small school," she said. "I
fell in love with the campus."
As a social work major, Megan fits in with the band. Most of the
members love music, but major in other things.
"Most of my friends are in band. We're a pretty close-knit
group."
