Frey to Join Vikings

BLAIR, NE – Nathan Frey, a senior pitcher at Bellevue West High School, has signed a national letter of intent to play baseball next fall at Dana College. Frey, a right-handed pitcher, was 1-2 last summer with two saves in 11 appearances on his Legion team where he compiled a 3.89 earned run average. Off the field, Frey has put up tremendous numbers as well.

With the signing, Frey becomes the first high school player to make a commitment to the Vikings for the 2008-2009 school year.

“Naturally, we are thrilled that Nathan has decided to join our program,” Dana head baseball coach Ken Misfeldt said. “We think he’s going to be a solid addition to our pitching staff, and there’s no doubt that he will be a positive contributor to our college community.”

Frey, the son of Dirk and Chrys Frey of Bellevue, plans to major in chemistry when he arrives on campus in August.

Coach Misfeldt is in his second season at the helm of the Viking baseball program.  Last year, Dana was 10-34.  Dana College is a private, Lutheran college located in Blair, Nebraska.  They participate in the Great Plaines Athletic Conference and a member of the NAIA.  Dana College is a place where all students actively participate.
