Michelle Young now moves on to national competition
Dana
College is proud to announce that Michelle Young, a junior from
North Platte, Neb., has been awarded a $1,000 scholarship from the
Omaha
Chapter of the American Society of Women Accountants (ASWA).
Young’s
application will be forwarded to ASWA’s national
office for consideration for the national scholarship. Only one application
per chapter is chosen for this honor. The Omaha chapter received
six applications.
The scholarship is available to part-time or full-time
students seeking a bachelor’s or master’s degree in
accounting. Successful applicants must have 60 hours of course
work completed at an accredited
school. Applications are judged based on the student’s academic
background, employment history, awards and honors, financial situation,
quality of references, the student’s career goals and her ability
to communicate well.
“
Naturally, we are very proud of Michelle,” said Carol King,
adjunct instructor of business at Dana College and member of ASWA.
Michelle
Young is the daughter of Andrew and Doris Young of North Platte.
She is a business administration major and a member of
the Dana Diplomats and Business
Club.
