International students add a rich dimension to an institution’s
intellectual climate and become an important component of the Dana
student body. Qualified candidates are encouraged to apply for admission.
English language competence is an essential prerequisite for good
academic performance; applicants must present a Test of English as
a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of 500 (or computer based score
of 173) for entry into our regular program of studies or a TOEFL
score of between 460 and 500 for entry into a combined program of
both regular and English as a Second Language courses. Once a student
achieves a 500 TOEFL score, he/she will be eligible to apply for
admission into a regular program of study. Students must also submit
all official academic transcripts from secondary (high school) and
college or university studies.
Prior to acceptance, international applicants must show that they
have sufficient financial resources to attend Dana College. All international
students are required to furnish evidence of adequate health insurance
coverage. Such evidence may be either a valid certificate of family
coverage or a policy the student has purchased. A health plan covering
illness, hospitalization and surgery is available to international
students. Specific information regarding the policy is available
in the Admissions Office or on the college’s web site.
