The courses in Anthropology are designed to give students a foundation in fundamental concepts.

No major or minor is offered.

ANT 210 Introduction to Anthropology 3 credits
Anthropology is the holistic study of every dimension of the human species at all times and in all places. This course introduces students to contemporary methods of anthropological study, and develops an appreciation of what it means to be human. The major sub-fields of anthropology will be explored in depth, with particular emphasis placed on the various physical, biological, evolutionary, archaeological, linguistic, and cultural characteristics of the human species.

ANT 399 Special Topics 1-3 credits
A selected area of study in anthropology. The topic is announced in the appropriate semester’s course schedule.
Prerequisite: Generally, sophomore standing or permission of instructor. Offered as needed.
