Dana College is an equal opportunity, affirmative action employer
and educational institution as required by Title VI, Title IX, Section
504, and the Age Discrimination Act. A proactive rather than a reactive
stance is followed regarding affirmative action issues. Students
are admitted without regard to their gender, age, race, sexual orientation,
religion, handicap or national origin and enjoy all the rights, privileges,
programs and activities made available to all students. The College
does not discriminate on the basis of gender, age, race, sexual orientation,
marital status, religion, handicap or national origin in the administration
of its employment, education and admissions policies, scholarship
and loan programs, activities and other College-administered programs.
Dana is committed to providing all of its students, faculty, staff
and visitors with equal access to its programs, events and facilities.
To this end, and in compliance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation
Act of 1973, the College is making modifications to its buildings
and grounds in such reasonable manner as to provide access for the
handicapped. The College stands ready to supply to students and faculty,
including those with limiting visual or hearing impairments, such
auxiliary aids, modification in classroom locations and/or such adjustments
in classroom techniques and practices as will allow equal access
to the regular programs and degree objectives offered by Dana College.
Requests for information or modifications beyond those already completed
or for assistance to accommodate individual needs should be made
to the Dean of Students, 426-7253.
Questions or concerns regarding equal employment opportunity and
affirmative action may be directed to the Affirmative Action Officer
or any member of the Affirmative Action Committee. The Committee
includes two full-time faculty members, two full-time students (preferably
one upper-division and one lower-division), and one other member
of the administration or staff appointed by the President. The President
and the Dean of the College act as ex-officio members of the Committee.
