NAT 111 Life Science 3 credits
An introduction to basic biological principles and the fundamental processes and characteristics of living organisms. Lecture 3 hours, laboratory 1 hour. A student may not receive credit for NAT 111 Life Science once credit has been received for BIO 121 Introduction to Cell Biology and Genetics.

NAT 112 Physical Science 3 credits
A study of the nature of matter and energy as it pertains to the student’s view of the universe and the earth and to the physical and chemical laws which affect his/her life. Some laboratory experiments are done to demonstrate the principles discussed in the lectures.
Prerequisites:Completion of baseline competency in mathematics.

NAT 399 Special Topics 1-3 credits
A selected area of study in natural science. The topic is announced in the appropriate semester’s course schedule.
Prerequisite: Sophomore standing or permission of instructor. Offered as needed.
