A
student’s financial aid award is not the same as the billing
statement that originates from the Business Office. The financial
aid award itemizes the various financial aid funding sources for
which a student qualifies.
If any portion of financial aid award is estimated, a “Y” will
appear under the column “EST” on the face of a student’s
award. Any funds that are estimated will NOT be credited to your
Business Office account balance until a student submits the additional
requested documentation or until the scholarship or loan funds have
arrived in the Business Office.
Recipients of Athletic and Fine Art Scholarships must sign and return
the Scholarship Agreement Form to the Financial Aid Office to ensure
funds will be credited to their Business Office accounts.
Students accepting the award of loan funds from the Federal Family
Education Loan Program (FFELP), which include Federal Subsidized
and Unsubsidized Stafford, and Federal Plus Loans often must submit
a separate loan application. Many federal loans are subject to a
3% origination fee and up to a 1% guarantee fee. These fees will
be deducted from your loan proceeds prior to the loan’s disbursement.
Federal Work Study and Campus Employment funds are paid to the student
by check on the 15th of each month, based upon the number of hours
worked in the previous month.
