A minimum of twenty semester hours of Honors credit (which may
or may not be officially transcripted) are required to graduate as
a Morton Scholar from Dana College, including:
- Participation in a minimum of one Honors Section of the Liberal
Arts Reading Program (1 credit);
- A minimum of one designated interdisciplinary Honors Course
offered during Discovery Term (3 credits);
- A minimum of nine credits in designated Honors Courses from “The
Challenge to Expand” section of the General Education Program;
- Cross-cultural experience: 1. approved international or domestic
travel; or 2. an approved off-campus independent study in cultural
diversity (3 credits);
- Senior thesis/project in a student’s major area, which
will be presented to the public (3 credits);
- A minimum of 40 hours of approved community service (1 credit);
- Participation in non-credit Honors Colloquium each semester
while in the Morton Scholars Program;
- Maintenance of a cumulative grade point average at Dana College
of 3.5 or above.
