Normally, a minimum of two chemistry courses will be taken each year. A strong high school preparation in natural science and mathematics is expected of potential chemistry majors. The 54-credit chemistry major consists of the following classes:

  • General Chemistry I
  • General Chemistry II
  • Quantitative Analysis I
  • Organic Chemistry I
  • Organic Chemistry II
  • Physical Chemistry I
  • Instrumental Analysis
  • Research in Chemistry
  • College Physics I
  • College Physics II
  • Calculus I
  • Calculus II
  • Biology I
  • Biochemistry

General Chemistry I & II, Organic Chemistry I & II and four credits of additional Chemistry electives at the 200 level or above make up the 20-credit Chemistry minor.
