The Second Annual Cultural Fair is right around the corner. Like last year, the fair will showcase a number of facets of culture including medicine, religion, diversity issues, dance, food, and music.

The Cultural Fair is being brought to Dana College by various groups on campus including SAO (Social Awareness Organization), GSA (Gay-Straight Alliance), CAO (Cultural Awareness Organization), and Student Senate, with financial support from the Provost’s Office, the Dean of Students, the Business and Athletic Departments, and the Development Office.

The planning committee of student volunteers includes Jami White (education), Lindsey Fox (communication), Rachel Turner (art), Bryant Johnson (communication), Jamie Sanders (biology), Marcie Smidt (communication), and Tiare Rodrigues (communication). Lisa Schreiber, Assistant Professor, is coordinating and supervising the efforts of the students and other campus volunteers.

The cultural fair kicks off on Monday, March 29 with a presentation by State Senator Ernie Chambers and ends on April 2 with a two-hour performance by New Flavor, a reggae band from Green Bay, Wisconsin.

Each day will be different so be prepared to try new things and hear discussions on topics ranging from white supremacy to women’s role in the church.
