Explore your strengths and develop your talents with professors
who are with you every step of the way. Do all of this and more
in the Department of Communication at Dana College.
Dana's
Communication Department helps in two important ways. First,
you'll develop the exceptional communication skills employers
want: leadership, team-building, writing, one-on-one communication,
computer-mediated communication and communication with diverse
audiences. Second, Dana's dedicated and highly regarded faculty
will be with you every step of the way, from your first Communication
course through graduation and beyond. You'll work closely
with your faculty mentors, who will help you plan your career,
prepare
for your job search and make the most of your college experience — inside
and outside the classroom.
Communication majors participate
in several learning projects that take them outside the classroom
to apply the knowledge
and skills learned in the classroom. Our students serve the
community
by doing small group projects, while learning about Communiation
in the real world. You'll also use our state-of-the art digital
video lab, where you'll produce your own video that could
end up on Dana's own cable TV channel. Or gain real world, hands-on
experience at KDCV, Dana's radio channel on the air and on
the web at www.huntel.net/kdcv.
Dana's Communication Department
produces great thinkers and leaders. In 2003, one-third of
the Dana Student Senate were
Communication
majors. And our graduates go on to great careers all over
the country in some of the largest and most influential
companies.
At Dana College, we're with you all the way!
