in newspapers with circulations under 50,000. Community Journalism
majors learn the principles of news judgment and ethical decision-making
while acquiring fundamental reporting, writing and editing skills.
Careers in journalism include reporter, editor, broadcaster, script
writer, technical writer and newsletter production. Optional emphasis
