Fair
is full of information and entertainment on various groups
Dana
College will host its second annual Cultural Fair, March 29 – April
2 on the college’s campus in Blair, Neb. The fair is a weeklong
showcase of culture, including medicine, religion, diversity issues,
dance, food and music, put on by several Dana student organizations.
Each
day features a different lineup of speakers, presentations, food
and performances designed to get visitors to try new things
and have
fun. Most events charge no admission, but a fee is required to
participate in food-related events. The public is warmly invited
to attend.
A tentative listing of each day’s events follows.
- Monday, March
29: Art Display, Danish Heritage and Culture, Ernie Chambers
and Multicultural Training Techniques at Work and in the Classroom.
- Tuesday,
March 30: Tales from Abroad, New Encounters: High School Seniors,
Hip Hop Dancers: The Thuderettes, White Supremacist and Hate Groups
in Nebraska, Sexual Orientation Panel, Barbeque Picnic and Gospel
Choir.
- Wednesday, March 31: Women’s Role in the Church, Ayurvedic
Medicine and Yoga Class, Hindu Awareness, Seder Meal and Hindu
Dance.
- Thursday, April 1: Immigrant Rights, Buddhist Speaker, Traditional
Chinese Medicine, Master Hong.
- Friday, April 2: Winnebago/Ponca
Tribes, Island Music and Picnic, Outdoor Activities and Reggae
Band.
