September 20, 2005

Pushed by a talented pack of runners, the Dana College Men’s and Women’s Cross Country teams improved their times Saturday at the Woody Greeno Invitational hosted by Nebraska Wesleyan in Lincoln, Neb.

The invitational includes top teams from every level of the NCAA and NAIA.

“ This meet is a chance to run against very good competition,” said Head Coach Derek Fey.

Though pleased with the Vikings’ times, Fey said he expects to see improvement. “Our training schedule is different. We train to peak at the end of our season. Some runners will peak early and their times won’t change much throughout the season, but Dana’s times will improve at each meet.”

Dana Cross Country travels to Minneapolis, Minn. for the Roy Griak Invitational on Saturday.
