In 2004, under rainy conditions, Kaup finished 151st place at the
national meet with a time of 27:17.
“Kaup ran a strong and intelligent race,” Head Coach Derek Fey said. “He
was moving up in the field from the sound of the gun. I expect him to be
an All-American next year.”
Kaup and senior Dru McMillan (4th Yr, Gillette, WY) were honored
Friday night with NAIA Academic All-American honors. To be eligible for
the award, individuals must be a junior or senior, possess a 3.5 G.P.A.,
and run a qualifying time.
