Head Coach Marc Bierbaum
Former Viking standout Marc Bierbaum began in 2007 as Dana
College's head cross country coach and head women's track coach.
Coach Bierbaum was a three-time national qualifier at Dana,
once for cross country and twice for track. He ran the
marathon in the 2000 and 2001 NAIA National Outdoor Track and
Field meets. He
graduated from Dana in 2001 with a degree in art education
K-12. He is a traveling art teacher for the Omaha Public Schools.
Marc
was the head cross country and assistant track coach at
Westside High School in Omaha from 2002-2006. In that
time, he coached 50 state qualifiers in cross country and track,
with
nine of them medaling in the state's biggest class.
Coach Bierbaum believes in hard work and dedication. he
encourages teamwork and a positive attitude. His goals
for the team are to develop runners progressively using a high
mileage approach and positive reinforcement. He would
also like to bring back the pack attack style that made Dana
so successful when he was running. Bierbaum wants to
help Dana College make a return to the national running scene.

and his wife, Sharene, a 2003 graduate of Dana, live in Omaha. Sharene
