Two free performances highlight some of Dana's
best, Jan 30 & 31
The Dana College Theatre will offer two
special evenings of one-man performances Jan. 30 and 31 in
Dana’s Lauritzen Theatre,
Madsen Fine Arts Center. The performances begin at 7:30 p.m.,
and are free and open to the public.
In the evenings’ first
performance, senior Emily Neve of Des Moines stars in Willy
Russel's Shirley Valentine. This funny,
powerful and touching play focuses on a frustrated middle-aged
British housewife who grabs at an opportunity to travel to
Greece and change her life.
In the second performance, senior
Jeremy Stoll of Mount Vernon, Iowa, will perform Wake Up
and Smell the Coffee by Eric Bogosian.
This manic, hilarious and sometimes offensive monologue
is sure to challenge audience members to take a second (and
third, and
fourth) look at the way in which they are leading their
lives.
Neve and Stoll are both regular feature players in Dana
College Theatre productions.
