Delightful musical by the team that created ‘Fiddler
on the Roof’
Dana College Theater plans to lighten things
up with their musical performance of “The Apple Tree,” Nov.
13-17.
"The Apple Tree,” is by composer Jerry Bock and
lyricist Sheldon Harnick, best known for their collaboration
of “Fiddler on the Roof.” “The
Apple Tree” is a funny, upbeat musical based on stories by Mark Twain,
Frank R. Stockton and Jules Feiffer.
The show stars veteran student performers
from Dana College Theater, as well as some new faces. Several members of
the cast will also play with the pit
band from time to time.
“
The Apple Tree” is directed by Dana College Director of Theater Paul Schneider,
who also acts as choreographer with the aid of the cast. Clare Cowing is the
musical director.
“
This is a thoroughly delightful show, fit for every member of the family,” Schneider
said.
Performances will be Nov. 13-16 at 7:30 p.m. and Nov. 17 at
2 p.m. in the Lauritzen Theater in the Madsen Fine Arts Center
on Dana’s
campus in Blair, Neb. General admission tickets will be available
at the door for $5 each.
Schneider said he promises a rousing
good time from Dana’s talented student
performers. “It’s the cheapest, best entertainment
value in the area,” he
said.
