Dana's business administration faculty are more than just teachers,
they are mentors who have hit the books to earn high degrees and
spent decades learning about business from Real World University.
Each member of Dana's business faculty are dedicated to helping students
achieve their individual career and life goals.
Here's a little bit about each member of the faculty. Please click on their names
to read full bios:
Professor Carol King,
assistant professor of business administration, says she thinks the
worst reason to do anything is because that is the way it has always
been done. She spent years in the workplace before earning her bachelor's
degree at Dana. She says she loves teaching at Dana because of the
personal relationships she can form with her students, and she takes
the responsibility of educating them very seriously. Her email address
is cking@dana.edu.
Professor Brenda Mechels, director of the sport management program,
also works as head coach of Dana's women's basketball team. Her email
address is bmechels@dana.edu.
Professor David Miller,
assistant professor of business administration (marketing), has
always taught that the Golden Rule is the most important law of
business.
(It took a while for the business world to catch up with him, but
with the Enron days over, he thinks they're finally getting the
message.) As a Special Operations helicopter pilot in Vietnam,
he discovered
the power of meditation. As an instructor at Dana, he incorporates
marketing techniques and spirituality into his classes. His email
address is dmiller@dana.edu.
Dr. James Smith,
assistant professor of business (information systems), learned
about management from his college days as a drive-in theater assistant
manager and 21 years in the Air Force. During his time in the military,
he earned advanced degrees in public administration and was a student
or teacher at 14 different institutions of higher learning. His
email
address is jsmith@dana.edu.
Dr. Susan Udey,
associate professor of business administration, loves to see the
look on a student's face when they finally "get" a concept.
She believes being involved in campus and community organizations
is vital to students' success, and it's a belief she holds to her
own life as well. She's active in many Blair organizations and volunteers
during tax season to prepare returns. Her email is sudey@dana.edu.
