Dr. Kate Joeckel received her Ph.D. in speech and dramatic art, as well as her master's and bachelor's degrees, from the University of Nebraska. She taught at Simpson College for 13 years, where she served as department chair of communication studies and division chair of policy studies. She also served as a policy analyst in the Nebraska governor's office, researching and preparing speeches for then-Governor Bob Kerrey.
