APPLICATION FOR FINANCIAL AID
Students wishing to be considered for financial aid must apply
and be accepted for admission to Dana College. Completing the Admissions
and Financial Aid Application is all that is required of prospective
students to apply for institutional aid. Continuing students must
meet Satisfactory Academic Progress Standards
and complete the Application for Financial Aid for Current Students,
available in the Financial Aid Office.
To be considered for federal financial aid, students must complete
the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA
can be completed on the internet at www.fafsa.ed.gov
. When completing the FAFSA, students must indicate that they want
the results of their application sent to Dana College by listing
Dana College and the Title IV code (002543) on the FAFSA application.
The FAFSA requests such information as actual income from the previous
year, the value of family assets and personal resources, family
size, and number in college. These data elements are used in the
federal analysis to determine a family’s need. Based upon
a family’s need, the financial aid staff will determine the
amounts of federal and institutional aid that a student qualifies
for at Dana College.
Priority for financial aid funds is given to students whose complete
application is received by March 15th. Students completing the FAFSA
should do so between January 1 and March 1 in order to meet the
Priority Date. It can take 2-6 weeks for FAFSA results to be processed
and sent to the schools of your choice.
The Financial Aid Office reserves the right to verify any information
submitted on the application by requiring additional documentation.
