All athletic scholarships are based on coach's recommendations. Scholarships are available in the following areas:

Men Women
Baseball Softball
Basketball Basketball
Cross Country Cross Country
Track Golf
Soccer Track
Wrestling Soccer
Football Volleyball

Scholarship recipients are required to sign and return a Scholarship Agreement Form prior to their initial enrollment. The Scholarship Agreement Form is mailed to the student with his/her initial award letter. Scholarships funds may be withheld from the student’s account until this form is returned to the Financial Aid Office.

To receive an athletic scholarship, a student must be eligible to compete in the sport in accordance with guidelines established by the NAIA and Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC). To be eligible to compete in Intercollegiate Athletics, new students must meet two of the following three requirements based on final high school transcripts. Students who do no meet these requirements are not eligible to compete in NAIA athletics for the first two semesters at Dana College.

  • Be in the top half of the graduating class
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale
  • 18 ACT score, or equivalent SAT

Eligibility requirements for transfer students differ. Please contact the athletic department for more details.

The size of the award is based on a recommendation received from the Athletic Department. Scholarships may be renewed with continued eligibility and participation as described on the Scholarship Agreement Form.

Renewal Requirements
The following minimum cumulative GPA requirements (calculated at the conclusion of the Spring semester) must be met to remain eligible:

  • First season: 1.75 GPA and 9 credits accumulated
  • Second season: 1.75 GPA and 24 credits accumulated
  • Third season: 2.00 and 48 credits accumulated
  • Fourth season: 2.00 and 72 credits accumulated

If a student does not meet these minimum requirements his or her athletic scholarship will be forfeited until he or she regains his or her eligibility.
