Switzer to Join Viking Football

BLAIR, NE – The Dana College Football announced Robert Switzer has signed a national letter of intent to play football for the Vikings in 2008.  Switzer is a defensive lineman from Longmont High School in Longmont, Colorado.  He becomes the second member of the Longmont High School football team to join the Vikings.  Teammate Reggie Andersen signed with the Vikings earlier this month.

Switzer played football and wrestled at Longmont, but will play only football at Dana College.  Robert is the son of Frank and Maria Switzer.

“Bob will be a great addition to our defensive line in 2008,” commented Head Coach Bill Danenhauer.  “We are looking for great help from him in the fall.  The football staff is very excited that Bob has chosen Dana College to continue his academic and athletic career.”

The Vikings finished the 2008 season with a record of 4-7.  Dana College is a private, Lutheran college located in Blair, Nebraska.  They participate in the Great Plaines Athletic Conference and a member of the NAIA.  Dana College is a place where all students actively participate.
