Three Local Players to Join Viking Football
BLAIR,
NE – The Dana College Football announced the signing of three players to
national letters of intent on Tuesday. Joining the Vikings for the
2008-2009 season are Cameron Boettcher, Rodney Guy, and
Rob Hayduk. All three were members of the Blair High School
football team last season.
Cameron Boettcher is an offensive lineman from
Blair. He is the son of Robert and Tammy Boettcher. He plans to major in
Secondary Education and History during his career at Dana College.
“Cameron had great feet and can either help us at center or guard,”
commented Head Coach Bill Danenhauer. “We
are very excited that Cameron has chosen Dana College to continue his
academic and athletic career.”
Rodney Guy is a defensive lineman from Blair.
He is the son of Rodney Guy. He plans to major in Criminal Justice
during his career at Dana College. Guy was a three year letter winner
at Blair High.
“Rodney
is a very strong inside player and will help to give us a presence
inside,” commented Head Coach Bill Danenhauer. “We
are very excited that Rodney has chosen to stay close to home to play
his college football.”
Rob
Hayduk is a defensive lineman from Blair. He
is the son of Bob and Lori Hayduk. He plans to major in Athletic
Training during his athletic and academic career at Dana College.
Hayduk was a two-year letter winner at Blair High School in football and
a three year letter winner in track. He was a part of the
All-Conference, All-District and All-Omaha Area teams as a senior.
“Rob
will bring speed to the defensive line and will help us with the outside
pass rush,” commented Head Coach Bill Danenhauer.
“Overall, we are excited that all three are going to continue their
football career here at Dana College and close to home,” added Coach
Danenhauer. “We feel they will be great additions to the 2008
recruiting class.”
The Vikings finished the 2008 season
with a record of 4-7. Dana College is a private, Lutheran college
located in Blair, Nebraska. They participate in the Great Plaines
Athletic Conference and a member of the NAIA. Dana College is a place
where all students actively participate.
