Planned gifts are those in which the donor retains an interest and the charitable use by Dana is deferred to some future time. Common future gifts include:

  • Bequests (either a dollar amount or a percentage)
  • Deferred pledge agreement
  • "Pay on Death" accounts
  • IRA or qualified pension plan beneficiary
  • Real estate (retained life estate)
  • Gifts of Insurance
  • Gifts that provide income

The representatives in the Advancement Office can assist you in several ways with making a deferred gift. They can provide you with the appropriate wording for a bequest or deferred pledge agreement and help you explore the benefits of setting up a charitable trust or annuity.
