A registered nurse staffs the Health Services Office in Mickelson Hall Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. during the school year. See “General Information” for what to do about illnesses, injuries and emergency care when the nurse is not available.

Here is a list of the services provided:

• First aid
• Assessment, treatment and/or referral for illnesses
• Assessment, treatment and/or referral for injuries
• Advice on when to go to the E.R.
• Free over-the-counter medications
• Health education on a variety of topics
• Stress management
• Free condoms and birth control education
• Advice on STD’s
• Free pregnancy tests
• M.D. telephone consultation
• Physician and dental referrals
• Blood pressure monitoring
• Immunizations such as the flu and meningitis vaccines
• Support for recovery from eating disorders and addictions
• Nutrition counseling
• Health record maintenance
• Equipment available to borrow, such as humidifiers, crutches, heating pads, ice packs, and a wheelchair.
