HONORS PROGRAM

Looking for a challenge? Driven to not only succeed but also excel? Want to find something that pushes you to meet your intellectual, social and spiritual potential?

Dana College's Honors Program is designed to academically challenge you, one of our top students, while also enhancing your employability and potential for admission to graduate school.

The Honors Program creates a learning experience where you can develop your initiative, independence and commitment to go beyond what is required. Faculty will serve as your mentors in this process of discovery.

As a participant in the Honors Program, you may register for up to three credit hours per academic year over the normal limit of 16 credit hours per semester without any additional cost to you.

As a Morton Scholar, you will make a difference both on and off campus beyond your academic contribution to Dana College. You will be a part of a variety of volunteer efforts, such as tutoring in the Learning Center and participating in service projects in the community.

When you complete the program, you will graduate with the title of Morton Scholar in honor of the late Dr. Richard E. Morton, who served as president of Dana College from 1944 to 1956. You will receive a specially designed engraved bronze medallion during Commencement.

Members of the Honors Program organize monthly meetings and enjoy several colloquia each semester. The Honors Program at Dana College is affiliated with the National Collegiate Honors Council.
