The Dana Honors Program is for our best and brightest. There are three ways to get in:

Select Presidential Scholars

  • Students who participate in the Presidential Scholarship Competition may be invited into the Honors Program as incoming freshemen. There is no automatic acceptance based on ACT alone. The determination of who will be invited is part of the Presidential Scholarship process.
  • High school grade point average of 3.5 or above.
  • Composite ACT/SAT score of 26/1170 or above.

First-Year Students

  • May apply at beginning of second semester.
  • High school grade point average of 3.5 or above.
  • Composite ACT/SAT score of 26/1170 or above.
  • Letter of recommendation from an academic advisor or other faculty member at Dana College.
  • One-page essay on reasons for wanting to be a Morton Scholar.

Upperclassmen/Transfers

  • Must apply no later than beginning of junior year.
  • Cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or above during undergraduate career.
  • Letter of recommendation from an academic advisor or other faculty member at Dana College.
  • Approval of the application by the Honors Program Advisory Council.
  • One-page essay on reasons for wanting to be a Morton Scholar.
