A minimum of 20 semester hours of Honors credit are required to
graduate as a Morton Scholar from Dana College, including
- Participation in a minimum of of one Honors section of the Liberal
Arts Reading Program (1 credit).
- A minimum of one designated interdisciplinary Honors course offered
during the January Interim (3 credits).
- A minimum of nine credit hours in designated Honors courses from
"The Challenge to Expand" section of the General Education Program.
Three hours may come from a course within the major area.
- Cross-cultural experience: 1) approved international or domestic
travel or 2) an approved off-campus independent study in cultural
diversity (3 credits).
- Senior thesis/project in a student's major area that will be
presented to the public (3 credits).
- A minimum of 40 hours of approved community service (1 credit).
- Participation in non-credit Honors Colloquia each semester while
in the Honors Program.
- Attend at least one monthly meeting per semester.
- Maintenance of cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or above
at Dana College.
