At Dana, we have a passion for languages and other cultures.
In fact, Dana's first language wasn't English, but Danish. (The
college was founded by Danish pioneers.) And even though English
long ago became the most popular language on our campus, Dana
has always kept modern languages close to its heart. Our
distinctive Discovery Term allows students to spend three weeks
studying abroad in January or many language students choose to
spend a summer or semester outside of the United States.
At Dana, we believe in learning through participation.
Our dedicated faculty — all native speakers of the languages
they teach — believe
textbooks should be supplements to instruction, not the main
way to learn. With small classes and mentor relationships,
they teach through conversation and practice, getting students
involved
and passionate about modern languages.
Studying modern languages
and cultures is fun, but it also pays off in the end. Employers
compliment our graduates on
their knowledge
and openness to non-American cultures. More and more, they
are looking for employees who can work in multinational offices,
and our grads have the skills, attitude and ability to learn
that they need.
At Dana College, we're with you all the way!
