Campus activities while at Dana:
Career Achievements:
I earned the master of music in performance and performer's
certificate from Indiana University in 1995, and the doctor
of musical arts degree from
the University of Michigan in 2002. I taught in the Omaha Public Schools
from 1995 to 1999.
How did Dana help you prepare for your career and graduate
school?
My preparation for graduate school was outstanding. I
never feared having to write papers, prepare annotated
bibliographies or express myself
verbally in
class or seminar. The fact that I had so many opportunities to
do all of those things at Dana, particularly in courses outside my
major, made
the
transition
to graduate school very easy. I also learned a great deal about
balancing
coursework, practicing and rehearsing, my social life, and my
family and spiritual life
while at Dana.
What do remember most about your time at Dana?
Learning so many things outside of my major and developing
close relationships with my professors. For example, I
never even had
a class with Dr.
(Paul) Schneider, but he helped me put my Rhodes Scholarship
application together,
and he always
remembers me and takes an interest in my career when I see
him. When I gave a guest recital at Dana last year, there
were several
professor
who
attended
and
remembered me, 10 years after I graduated. |
