In 10 years, I will be…
In 10 years, I hope to be living somewhere in the Midwest in a house or apartment. I will be successfully working with domestic violence and sexual assault survivors to help improve and empower their lives.

What's the coolest thing you've done since you began attending Dana?
During Discovery Term in my freshman year, I went on a tour of various Native American reservations throughout the area. I actually stood on a Sundance ground, which is a very sacred ritual. I got to see a sweat lodge, which was amazing. I learned so much from that trip and have so much respect for natives all over the world. No one can even begin to comprehend what they have gone through.

Why did you choose Dana?
I chose Dana because I fell in love with the small campus atmosphere on my first tour. I'm from a smaller-sized town, and I didn't want to leave that behind. Dana is close to my home, so if I ever need to get away, I can just jump in my car and go. The main reason I chose Dana, however, is because of the good reputation of the Social Work Department. I had heard nothing but good about it, and now I know why. I made the right choice in coming here!

What will you remember most about your time at Dana?
I will remember all the friends that I made, the good times that I had, and the professors that have taught me so much, after I leave Dana. I have never regretted for one second my decision to come here.

What's the best thing about living on campus?
The best part about living on campus is the close circle of friends you develop. Whenever you need them, they're nothing more than a few paces away. I couldn't imagine living off campus and not seeing the people I love on a daily basis.

What do you and your friends enjoy doing?
My friends and I enjoy going to parties and just generally hanging out and having a good time. Whether that be watching a chick flick in the dorms or going to the many parties every weekend in Blair and Omaha.

What college class has been the most fun for you and why?
My favorite class over the last three years has been, without a doubt, Richard Potter's Practice I class. I feel like I learned so much from him, as well as the other students. We had so much fun doing real life role plays in class. It was awesome. Ask any Social Work major and they will tell you that we are all like family! That definitely helps enhance the learning experience and makes everything twice as fun.

What kinds of real world experiences have you gotten through Dana?
During my sophomore year, I did an internship at the Crisis Center in Fremont over Discovery Term. It was an unbelievable experience. I was able to sit in when the advocates would do an intake with a victim. I got to accompany the advocates and the victims to court when it was time for the perpetrator to be sentenced. I went with the public outreach advocate when she would go into different schools in the area and educate the students about the issue of domestic violence and sexual assault..
