The Dana College Men’s Basketball team returned to action Wednesday
for the first time since their four overtime loss to Morningside
College. The home atmosphere did not help the Vikings cause as they
fell to Briar Cliff University 78-64.
Tyler Mohr (Ocheyedan, Iowa) opened the
game for Dana by draining a three-pointer, but from there Briar
Cliff dominated the match-up. The Chargers shot over 60 percent
from behind the three point arc and overall from the field in the
first half. The Vikings could not find an answer.
The potent duo of Jason Isaacson
(Council Bluffs, Iowa) and Mark Esser (Woodbine, Iowa) were
held to a combined total of 25 points. Isaacson was held to a team
high of 14 points. This came on the heels of a record setting 48
points on Saturday. Esser did not score in the first half, but
scored 11 in the second. He also blocked six shots. This was
his third game of the year with over six swats in a game. |
Teddy Cox (JR, Hawley, Minnesota)
continued to be a consistent third option for the Vikings as he went
for 12 points. Doug Huston (FR, Olathe, Kansas) provided a
spark off the bench. Huston set a career mark with seven assists in
the game and also pulled down five rebounds.
The loss drops Dana College to 11-12 overall
and 5-6 in conference play. Briar Cliff is now 13-9 overall and 4-7
in conference. The Vikings continue their home stand on Saturday
afternoon when they host the Midland Lutheran Warriors at 4:00pm in
the Gardner-Hawks Center.
