Dana’s men’s basketball team defeated Dakota Wesleyan Tuesday at the Corn Palace in Mitchell, S.D. 90-81 in the first round of the GPAC post-season tournament.

Four Vikings scored double digits.  Mark Esser (SR Woodbine, Iowa) led Dana with 21 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocked shots.  Jason Isaacson (SR Council Bluffs, Iowa) and Rob Cox (SR Hawley, Minn.) each scored 18.  Isaacson also had 10 assists in the game.  Ted Cox (Hawley, Minn.) scored 17 points, 6 rebounds.

Dana held a five-point lead at halftime 39-34.  The Vikings maintained their lead throughout the second half.

The win sends Dana to Sioux Falls, S.D. Thursday night.  They will face GPAC No. 1 University of Sioux Falls in the second round of the tournament.
