Panthers Pounce on Vikings
York, Nebraska ~
Dana College took a four point lead into halftime, but
could not hold the lead on the road. York College used its home court
advantage to come away with a 69-66 win over Dana on Saturday afternoon.
Neither team had a huge shooting
advantage in the first half. The Vikings shot a 37.5-percent from the
floor, but the Panthers shot a lower 35.5-percent. Second half saw
York earn ten more free throw attempts than Dana. The Panthers went
20-29 from the charity stripe, while the Vikings were 13-25.
Dana was led in scoring once again
by Teddy Cox (SR, Hawley, MN). Cox scored 17 points on 8 of 17
shooting. Gabe Bross (SO, Omaha, NE) was second in scoring with
11 points and five rebounds. Trent Mumma (SO, Bennington, NE)
chipped in ten points, four rebounds, and three assists. Point guard
Doug Huston (SO, Olathe, KS) scored six points and dished out a team
high five assists.
The loss drops Dana College to 1-3
on the season. Dana will suit up to take on William Penn University on
Tuesday evening in Oskaloosa, Iowa. Tip off is scheduled for7:00pm.
The Vikings will return home on Saturday to take on GPAC rival Hastings
College at 4:00pm.
