Kitzelman, Johnson Make All-Tournament Team

 The Dana College Men’s Basketball team received some good news prior to leaving the warm Hawaiian Islands on Wednesday.  The Vikings were informed that Jared Kitzelman (SR, Fremont, NE) and Sean Johnson (FR, Council Bluffs, IA) were named to the Hoop ‘N Surf All-Tournament team.

Kitzelman had a tournament high on Monday afternoon with 27 points.  The lanky left-hander was six of eight from behind the three point line.  He finished with a team high 33 points in the two games.  Johnson scored 14 points in Dana’s loss against Simon Fraser Monday.

Dana will return to the hardwood on December 29 against the University of Nebraska-Omaha at 7:00pm in the Sapp Field House.  The Vikings will return home on January 2 against Midland Lutheran.  Tip for that game is scheduled for 7:30. 

The win raises Dana’s record to 4-9 on the season and drops Oneonta to 3-5.  The Vikings will next take on the Clan of Simon Fraser University tonight at 8:00pm (Hawaiian time).  Simon Fraser is a NAIA institution located in Burnaby, British Columbia.  The Clan is currently 11-5 on the season.  Dana will return to Nebraska on Thursday afternoon.  Following Christmas, the Vikings will travel into Omaha and take on the University of Nebraska-Omaha in Sapp Field house at 7:00pm.  Dana will square off against Midland Lutheran at Home on January 2, 2007 at 7:30pm.
