Vikings Land Five on Scholar-Athlete Team
The 2007-08 Division I & II Men's
Basketball Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes have been announced with
over 135 student-athletes recognized with this prestigious honor. Three
school's tied for the most awards with five: Dana (Neb.), MidAmerica
Nazarene (Kan.) and Ottawa (Kan.).
The five members from Dana College
include: Zach Genant (JR, Springfield, SD), Doug Huston
(JR, Olathe, KS), Sean Johnson (SO, Council Bluffs, IA), Eric
Maassen (JR, Hancock, IA), and Jon Person (JR, Olathe, KS).
In order to be a recipient of the NAIA-Daktronics Scholar-Athlete award,
one must fulfill these requirements: the recipient must be a junior or
above in academic standing; has been in attendance at the nominating
institution a minimum of one full year of attendance; has a minimum
grade point average (GPA) of 3.50 (on a 4.0 scale) at the time of
nomination at the nominating institution; has been certified as
eligible.
