BRANDL SIGNS WITH dana college

Blair, Nebraska ~ The Dana College Men’s Basketball team announced the signing of Jake Brandl to a national letter of intent on Friday.  Brandl played two years at North Platte Community College and before that at North Platte St. Patrick High School.  He is the son of Roger and Jean Brandl.  Brandl plans to major in Secondary Education, History and Coaching during his athletic and academic career at Dana College.

“I felt comfortable with the environment, the players, and felt that it would be a good fit for me to grow as a person,” commented Brandl on his choice of Dana College.  “I am excited about being able to learn more about the game, to be able to play with different people, and to make new friends.”

Brandl averages 7 points, two rebounds and one steal per game during his two-year career at North Platte Community College.  He was a three time first team All-Conference selection at St. Patrick High School and a two time second team All-State selection.

“We are very pleased to have Jake become a student-athlete at Dana College,” said Head Coach Chris Fear.  “Jake is a quality young man and will fit in very well with our team. He is an explosive player who has the opportunity to help us on the perimeter immediately.”

Dana finished the year 15-17 overall and 7-11 in the Great Plains Athletic Conference.  Coach Chris Fear is in his eighth season as the head coach for Dana College.
