HERRING SIGNS WITH dana college

 

Blair, Nebraska ~ The Dana College Men’s Basketball team announced the signing of Richard Herring to a national letter of intent on Thursday.  Herring is a first team all-conference selection from Maryknoll High School in Honolulu, Hawaii.  He is the son of Julie and Tony Herring.

 

“I chose Dana because it seemed like a good school,” said Herring on his choice of Dana College.  “I also had a lot of talks with Coach Fear and he made me feel comfortable and I wanted to experience something outside of Hawaii.”

 

“I am pleased that Richard has decided to attend Dana,” commented Head Coach Chris Fear.  “He has committed to come a long way from home to follow his dream of playing college basketball. Richard is a good player and a very hard worker. He will fit in with our current players very well.”

 

Herring averaged 15 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 3 assists per game at Maryknoll High School. 

 

Dana finished the year 15-17 overall and 7-11 in the Great Plains Athletic Conference.  Coach Chris Fear is in his eighth season as the head coach for Dana College.  Dana College is a private, Lutheran college located in Blair, Nebraska.  The Vikings participate in the Great Plains Athletic Conference and are members of the NAIA.  Dana College is a place where all students actively participate.
