Bench Play Rallies Vikings

Not even Mother Nature could slow down n the Dana College men’s basketball team.  The Vikings were originally scheduled to play Peru State in Auburn, Nebraska on Saturday.  An early ice storm forced the game to be rescheduled to Sunday.  Dana would come away with a 72-66 victory.

Dana found itself down two points at the half.  The Vikings got 21 points from its bench to rally for the win.  Eric Maassen (JR, Hancock, IA), who missed the Nebraska Wesleyan game due to injury, came off the bench to score 20 points and tear down seven rebounds.  Trent Mumma (SR, Bennington, NE) led all scorers with 22 points and had nine rebounds.  Sean Johnson (SO, Council Bluffs, IA) and Gabe Bross (JR, Omaha, NE) each had 11 points and five rebounds in the victory. 

The win evened the Vikings record at 6-6 (0-2 in GPAC), while Peru dropped to 2-8.  Dana will host Hastings College (11-0, 3-0) on Wednesday night at 8:00pm.
