MEN'S SOCCER

MORE ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Over the past three seasons, the Viking Men's Soccer team has been known for their style of play. The Vikings use an aggressive defense to build their attack. Opposing teams in 2004 were shut out a program-record seven times and were held on average under 1.25 goals per game. The offensive pace is controlled by the Viking midfield. The strikers and midfielders looked to play the ball into space and exploit the openings.

Discipline, enthusiasm, pride and reliability. These are four components of a Dana College soccer recruit. Head Coach Gene Torrens is looking for quality players in all positions, and especially those who have the desire to be successful. Beyond that, he's looking for strikers who can put the ball in the back of the net, midfielders with great field vision who can control the pace of the game, tenacious defenders and talented goalkeepers. Most of all, the team wants talented student athletes with speed and confidence.

Dana soccer players are rewarded for talent and effort — not seniority. Athletes who perform on and off the field get to see the fruits of their efforts.
