One of Dana College's goals is "To help students find meaning
and purpose in their lives by examining the Christian faith, articulating
their understanding of it and integrating this understanding into
all of life." Campus Ministry at Dana College seeks to
serve this goal in its daily activities.
The college is fortunate
to receive funding from the Thomas F. Staley Foundation to offer
a special lecture series each year. These lectures
are coordinated by the campus ministry office.
Learning is not limited
to book or Bible studies, lectures,
and the classroom. Campus Ministry at Dana College includes informal
conversations. Whether at a basketball game, in the dining room,
sitting in a dorm room participating in a Bible study or in
the gathering center in front of Trinity Chapel, or watching a
religious
movie in the Campus Center, campus ministry conversations are
happening. Students
are thinking about the Christian faith and its implications for
life. And
they are hearing and sharing the good news of Jesus Christ.
Following
Jesus' example, members of the Dana community escape the distractions
of the campus environment. In September each
year, all
students are invited to gather for a weekend retreat. The retreat
provides an atmosphere of relaxed fellowship, prayer, play,
and learning.
