The Music Department seeks to identify and develop a high degree of appreciation, comprehension and performance abilities within its students with an emphasis on classic musical literature.

Majors in music are designed to prepare graduates for a wide variety of professional positions such as music educators at the elementary and secondary levels, private studio instructors, and church positions such as organist and/or choral director. The majors also provide required academic and performance preparations for graduate study in music.
