A group of Dana students will travel to Slidell, La., during spring break to help families in cleaning up their homes in preparation for reconstruction. They will leave on March 17 and return on March 24. Housing and meals will be provided. Faculty and staff who are interested in joining the students on this service trip should contact Pastor Ng'weshemi, 426-7251.

A fundraiser pancake feed for the group will be held this Sunday, February 18 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, 1734 Grant Street. The group is estimating they will need to raise about $3000 for the trip.

Dr. Carla Delucchi has volunteered to be an ambassador for the Great Backyard Bird Count. This event occurs February 16-19. This is one of the Cornell Lab of Ornithology’s Citizen Science Projects. They encourage people to go out on these days to watch birds and report the largest number of each species you see. This information is used by scientists to track bird abundance and ranges.

Dr. Delucchi is available to talk to community groups or school groups. You can contact her at 426-7261.

Dr. Sybille Bartels will host a NATG workshop at Joslyn Art Museum Saturday, February 17.

The lecture is part of the CU at Joslyn series. There will also be a docent-led tour on art of the American West, including the Bodmer collection, at 12:15 p.m. Admission to Joslyn is free from 10:00 a.m. to noon.

Please join Nebraska Teachers of German for this event.

The Evangelical Lutheran Worship workshop scheduled for Saturday on the Dana College campus is now full.

People who are still interested in attending an ELW introductory workshop may still register online for the March 17 workshop in Grand Island. Go to www.nebraskasynod.org and click on “Registrations” or call the Nebraska Synod office.
