A group of Dana students will travel to Slidell, La.,
during spring break to help families in cleaning up their
homes in preparation for reconstruction. They will leave
on March 17 and return on March 24. Housing and meals
will be provided. Faculty and staff who are interested in
joining the students on this service trip should contact
Pastor Ng'weshemi, 426-7251.
A fundraiser pancake feed for the group will be held this
Sunday, February 18 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at St. Mary's Episcopal
Church, 1734 Grant Street. The group is estimating they will
need to raise about $3000 for the trip.
Dr. Carla Delucchi has volunteered to be
an ambassador for the Great Backyard Bird Count. This event
occurs February 16-19. This is one of the Cornell Lab of
Ornithology’s Citizen Science Projects. They encourage
people to go out on these days to watch birds and report
the largest number of each species you see. This information
is used by scientists to track bird abundance and ranges. Dr. Delucchi is available to talk to community groups or school

Dr. Sybille Bartels will host a NATG workshop
at Joslyn Art Museum Saturday, February 17.
The public is welcome
to attend the 10:30 a.m. presentation on “Prinz Maximilian
und Karl Bodmer in German America,” by Dr. Lorie Vanchena,
Creighton University. The lecture is part of the CU at Joslyn
series. There will also be a
docent-led
tour on art of the American West, including the Bodmer collection,
at 12:15 p.m. Admission to Joslyn is free from 10:00 a.m.
to noon.

The Evangelical Lutheran Worship workshop scheduled
for Saturday on the Dana College campus is now full.
People who are still interested in attending an ELW introductory
workshop may still register online for the March 17 workshop

Maia String Quartet tonight at 7:30 p.m.
in Trinity Chapel in the Durham Center. Admission to the concert
is free.
