Two Dana students have been accepted for study abroad at the Freie Universitaet Berlin and Aalborg University. Kendra Johnson (German, International Studies, Psychology) will spend the fall in Berlin and Matthias Bartels (History) will study next year at Dana’s exchange university in Denmark.

Both students have been active in service efforts on and off campus (such as Campus Ministry, Nebraskans for Peace, Katrina Relief), have traveled in Europe and will study comparative culture, history and languages while abroad. Please encourage others to contact Languages & International Studies for information and assistance.

Dr. Sybille Bartels served as judge at the annual Nebraska Association of Students of German convention at Bellevue East High School, Saturday, March 24. She also represented Dana at the annual dinner meeting of Omaha’s Sister City Association, held at UN-O on March 18. Students from Omaha’s sister city Braunschweig have been guests in Dana German classes for years.

Dr. Janet Philipp was one of four presidents to address the annual Nebraska Women in Higher Education Conference at the College of St. Mary on Friday, March 23. Also representing Dana were Carrie Reed (College Relations), Jo Peterson (Social Work), Dr. Kate Joeckel (Communication) and Dr. Sybille Bartels (Languages).

Plan now to attend the MENC Talent Show on April 12 at 7 p.m. in the Dragon's Head.

This event is open to all students, staff and faculty. There will be CASH prizes!

Take yourself (and / or your family) out to the ballgames at DANA!
On Saturday, April 14, you can cheer for the Dana softball and baseball teams and enjoy a hot dog lunch compliments of the Dana Alumni Council. This is a great opportunity to support both teams, celebrate with alumni and eat a
free hot dog with all the trimmings! Since there is no concession stand planned for that date, the Alumni Council will have pop available for sale but the food for alumni and friends is free!

The games are scheduled for 1 p.m. Hotdogs, chips and cookies or bars will be served from 12-1 p.m.

Questions? contact Julie in the alumni office.
