Thirty-five singers performed in the Madsen Fine Arts Center last Wednesday for the first annual Dana Vocal Festival and Adjudication. Guest adjudicators included Mandy Rauch of College of Saint Mary, Paul Koenig of Dundee Presbyterian Church, Beth King (graduate of Dana and UNL), Teresa Dody of UNO, and Maestro Hal France, former artistic director of Opera Omaha.
The singers were from Dana, UNO and several area high schools. Each singer prepared three songs and there were traditional/classical and musical theatre divisions.


The Musical Theater Performance class provided entertainment for a group of Blair sorority women on Monday, April 16. Those participating were: Paige Vaughan, Brooke Fencl, Jenna Grey, Nick Albrecht, Luther Simon, Chase Stuto, Joe Blackstad, Greg Rickenbacher, Sara Andrews and Tom Gjere. They were accompanied by Dana alumna Susan Steinke.


The class of 2008 should be attending a Graduation Application Workshop with the Registrar’s Office now! Bring yourself and a writing utensil to the Forum at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday or DHS 107 on Thursday at 2:30 p.m. You’ll receive your graduation application and spend time working through it. The deadline for graduation applications for December 2007-August 2008 graduates is May 11, 2007.


Note schedule change: Senator Chuck Hagel will still be visiting campus this Friday, April 27, but will not have time during this visit for an open forum. He will be meeting with President Philipp and the Board of Regents as well as members of the Student Senate. Senator Hagel will also tour campus during his short visit.
