The Dana College Theater production of WONDERFUL TOWN, with music by Leonard Bernstein, opens Friday and runs Oct. 20-22 and Oct. 27-29. This charming comedy centers on two young sisters from Ohio trying to make their way as writer and actress in the Big Apple. Their efforts to locate work in the Big City and navigate their way through a curious assortment of Greenwich Village residents produce a splendid collection of funny scenes and superb music. You’ll be dancing the Conga and singing The Wrong Note Rag for weeks after you’ve seen the show.

All faculty, adjuncts and staff are entitled to two complimentary tickets to the show. Additional tickets may be purchased at a cost of $7.00 per ticket. There is no reserved seating, so it would be wise to arrive by 7:15. The show will be over by 10:00. Complimentary tickets are available from Sandy Sonderup in the Campus Center and must be picked up in advance of the show. Because of some slightly adult material, we would advise that you not bring children under seventh grade age.

This show is going to make you laugh and make you sing. Plan now, since you may want to see it twice.

Bob Simpson, wrestling and head football coach at Dana in the 1960s and 1970s, passed away last week after a battle with pancreatic cancer. A full obituary is available on the Ashland Gazette web site.

This Friday, October 20, the Joslyn Art Museum will be holding their Fall College Night from 7-9 p.m. On College Night, the museum is free to all students and faculty with ID and includes free admission, tours (currently featured is the exhibit Art on Edge: Modern & Contemporary Art from the Permanent Collection and Jay Bolotin: The Jackleg Testament), hands-on art projects, prizes, pizza, soda, and desserts. Also, experience an entertaining synthesis of music and art with special guests Kevin Pike, John Kotchian, and Troy Muller.

The Clarion Chamber Chorale will honor its past at its gala 25th anniversary concert Sunday, Oct. 22, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Millard. The concert will begin at 3 p.m. Dr. Richard Palmer, professor of music at Dana, is artistic director of the group.

Tickets, available at the door, cost $10 for adults and $5 for students. For more information, call Cheryl Lee at 289-4716.

The Bloodmobile will be on campus this Thursday, October 19, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. in the Cooperman Atrium. If you can not donate, please consider volunteering at one of the help stations—we still need many volunteers.

Please sign-up today by emailing Brandi Sestak a time that would work in your schedule or by stopping by the sign-up table in the Campus Center. We currently have enough people signed up to potentially collect 35 units of blood—our goal is 65.
